Among Friends has been invited to be a vendor at Sauder Village from August 11 - August 15. These new guys will be making a grand entrance at Sauder. Hope to see all of our old hooking friends and make lots of new ones while we are there. By the way, these two guys have a big brother who is presently being sewn together. All three family members will be centerstage in our booth.

Chicago Merchandise Mart
Pat and I are in Chicago, IL at the Merchandise Mart ordering for our shop, Trinkets & Treasures, located on the historic square in Washington, IL. We always visit the booth of our good friend, Vickie, who owns Door County Coffee. We had a busy day, found lots of goodies for our customers, and will start for home tomorrow afternoon.

NOLA
A couple of my hooking buddies (Sue and Linda) and I went to New Orleans to attend a workshop led by Carrie Martin. Yes, we had a great time and yes, it was HOT! Believe it or not, the room where we hooked as so cold we needed a sweatshirt. We did Bourbon Street -- what an eye-opener. The food was incredible and so was the hospitality. We hope to see all of our new Louisiana and Mississippi girlfriends soon.

Busy Rest of the Week
Well, tonight is Bunco. I truly enjoy this group of 11 other ladies. We have a great time, eat loads of delicious food, talk for hours and even manage to play several games of Bunco. I have been playing for over 20 years so I must enjoy it!
Tomorrow night our scrapbooking group of 9 is having a recipe exchange. We are making our second 6x6 recipe album. We did the first one in February and it was entitled "Sweet Treats". This one remains untitled at this moment, but will be filled with recipes to take to picnics or cookouts. Each lady contributes 2 different recipes and makes 9 pages of each one. This is a very creative group. After the exchange, I'll post some photos so you can see how it all went together.
I am also hooking the third snowman, Mr. Big, who will round out the "We Are Family" series. Junior and Eggbert will appear on my website very soon.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Next post I will try to add pictures. This blog is a learning experience.

First Attempt
This is my very first posting on my very first blog. I love rug hooking and Shih Tzu. You will be able to follow all the rug hooking activities on this blog and will be able to meet my furry friends on my other blog, http://trinketshihtzu.blogspot.com. On the right is the princess who owns my heart -- Lucy. Click on Lucy and you will arrive at the Tzu blog. It is currently in the process of being built, but should be up and running very soon.
I have been hooking rugs for about 7 or so years. I began designing my own patterns 5-6 years ago. I began dyeing wool 1-1/2 years ago. I design hooked projects for Create & Decorate magazine and hope to continue well into the future.
I enjoy traveling to various hook-in events and attending camps and workshops. I'll post all of the places you may run into Among Friends under "On the Road".
I hope you all will enjoy reading about the rug adventures of Among Friends. I look forward to hearing from you.
